14 DAY TOUR TO GHANA
This tour takes you to Ghana for an adventure tour where you will visit the beautiful tourist attractions of Ghana.
Day 1: ARRIVAL IN ACCRA
Upon arrival in Accra, you will be taken to your hotel overnight.
Day 2 ACCRA CITY TOUR
After breakfast we shall proceed on a city tour of Accra. Places to visit will include, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, the Independence Square and the W.E.B.Dubois Centre for Pan Africanism. After lunch we will proceed to the Accra Museum. We return to hotel for overnight.
Day 3 CAPE COAST CASTLE / KAKUM NATIONAL PARK
Today we will depart Accra for the Central Region to explore the infamous forts, castles and slave history of the slave trade. We will first visit the Cape Coast Castle, which was built by the Swedes in 1653 and later taken over by the British.
After lunch, we will visit the Kakum National Park the only one of its kind found in Africa. After a walk on the Canopy, we return to hotel in Elmina for overnight.
Day 4 ELMINA CASTLE/ KUMASI
After breakfast, we will visit the Elmina Castle built by the Portuguese in 1482 also known as St. George’s Castle. This castle was the first European structure built in Sub – Saharan Africa. We later proceed to Kumasi the capital of the Ashanti region. Overnight will be in Kumasi.
Day 5 KUMASI CITY TOUR
After breakfast, we will explore the famous Ashantis at the Manhyia Palace Museum. There you will get a sense of a day in the life of an Ashanti ruler (Asantehene). At the museum, you will learn and obtain firsthand information on the legacies of the Ashanti Kingdom.
After a drive through the city of Kumasi to view monuments dedicated to the memory of great Ashanti people we visit the National Cultural Center. The day’s tour ends at Okonfo Anokye sword site planted by this famous fetish priest. We proceed to hotel for dinner and overnight in kumasi.
Day 6 ASHANTI CRAFT VILLAGES
Today we will be visiting the three famous craft villages in the Ashanti Region: Ahwiaa (the wood carvers’ village), Ntonso (the home of Adinkra) and Bonwire (the Kente weaving village). You will have the opportunity to see how West African crafts are made and buy directly from the artisans who make them. We then proceed to the northern region of Ghana. Overnight in Mole National Park.
Day 7 MOLE NATIONAL PARK
Today you will go on a walking safari to view elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, baboons, monkeys and many more of West Africa’s big game animals. At Mole you will see elephants up close and personal, and later, in the nearby village of Larabanga, view the oldest mosque in Ghana. Overnight in Mole.
Day 8 BOABENG FIEMANG/ KINTAMPO WATER FALL
Today’s tour will take us back to Accra stopping trough the Boabeng Fiemang Monkey sanctuary where monkeys live with human. We take a brief stop at Kintampo fall before arriving late evening in Accra. Overnight in Accra.
Day 9 ADA ESTUARY
Our tour today will take us to Ada where we will enjoy a boat ride on the biggest man-made lake in the world to the estuary. After a visit of the nearby Islands where we will learn how the traditional Akpeteshi drink is distilled, we return to Accra for overnight.
Day 10 MOUNT AFADJATO/ WLI FALLS
Today we will visit the Volta Region of Ghana. We shall conquer the highest mountain in Ghana Mount Afadjato. We later proceed to visit the highest water fall in west Africa Wli falls. After lunch we will visit the Tafi monkey Sanctuary. Overnight will be in Accra.
Day 11 ABURI GARDEN/ TETTEH QUARSHIE FARM
Today’s tour will take us to the Aburi Gardens where we will enjoy nature and learn about a vast range of trees and plants. We later visit the Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm where the first cocoa tree brought to Ghana was planted. We proceed to visit the coco research institute for a tour of how cocoa is processed into finish product. We return to Accra for overnight.
Day 12 BOTI FALL/ UMBRELLA ROCK
We shall visit the Boti fall passing through the Eastern Regional capital Koforidua. After experiencing the fall, we proceed to the Umbrella Rock. After lunch we return to Accra for overnight
Day 13 SHOPPING
Today being your last day, you will have the chance to do some last minute shopping before your flight back home. You will shop at the Art Centre, Makola market and the African Market. Return to hotel for overnight.
Day 14 DEPARTURE
We shall enjoy a lunch together today for being driven to the Kotoka International Airport for your flight back home.
